Letter of love

Love is most certainly in the air this week as Valentine's Day fast approaches. However, it seems that men might be losing their romantic streak. According to research in the Lindt Lindor Code of Modern Chivalry report only have of men have penned a love letter or poem. Today, men are more likely to send a romantic text rather than put pen to paper, and even when they do send some romantic words six per cent confessed to passing of romantic poetry as their own. Relationship expert Jenni Trent Hughes says; "We may no longer be knights in shining armour or damsels in distress – but we still need romance. It is part of our emotional DNA."

The report also gives men a few hints on how to impress a woman this Valentine's Day. It says that men should pick up the bill at the end of a night, because a third of women questioned admitted they do not expect to ‘go halves’ on Valentine’s Day. One big romance killer is interrupting the evening with a phone call, text or e-mail, something that will irritate 98 per cent of all women (and who can blame them for getting angry). Then there's her outfit; 61 per cent said they like to be complimented on their appearance.

Now that can't be too much to ask for can it ladies?
