Budget how does it affect you

I know the budget is on going as I type but just wondering how will it affect you ??

Capital Gains Tax to rise by 2%

Stamp duty on cheques up to 50 cent

First time buyers’ mortgage relief up to 25%

Mortgage relief for second time buyers drops by 5%

1% tax levy on all earning up to E100K per year

DIRT up to 23% on ordinary deposit accounts

Cigarettes and wine up 50 cent, petrol up 8 cent

Early childcare supplement to stop at 5 and a half

Child benefit for 18-year-olds to cease in 2010

Lenihan plans work car park levy of €200

i thought that cigs weree going u by 2 euro? the early childcare til 5 and half. how do they expect people to go to work if they cant afford chidcare?

I think everyone will be feeling the 8 cent on petrol, it’s at an atrocious price as it is.

I wish the cigarettes went up by €2 that would give alot of smokers good reason to give up but Leno and his croonies know they make so much of cigs they dont want to shot themselves in the foot. car park levy intrigues me

PETROL IS CRAZY PEOPLE WILL DEFINETLY FEEL IT I SMOKE AND IF THEY HAD PUT THEM UP 2EURO IT MIGHT HAVE GIVE ME THE KICK UP THE BACKSIDE TO QUIT

Any car over 2.5l road tax up by 4% and over 2.5l is up 5%

i do not smoke but thats the only saving i made on the budget i knew we were in for bad budget but thank god the day is here and we do not have to listen to the doom and gloom warnings

I’m a smoker and to be honest I was hoping they would go up at least €2. Just got the alan carr book going to start it the weekend.

It’s a HUGE jump I currently spend €50 a week on petrol.

The changes come into effect from midnight, so I’m going to fill up the car later on.

They need to get their act together about the cigarettes and put them way up. I am working with teens every day and see how they are becoming addicted already.

€1.18 is quite good. Most places will be hitting the €1.30 mark with this increase.

I totally agree with you miselemeas, as others have said, they should have gone up by €2.
