CELEBRITY WIRE 22.02.12
The cemetery where Whitney Houston was laid to rest has been closed to the public indefinitely.
Officials at the Fairview Cemetery in New Jersey made the decision following a series of traffic problems resulting from grieving fans wanting to pay their respects to the singer, who was buried there on Sunday (19.02.12).
Police Captain Cliff Auchter said: "It's a private property, and it's up to them to make that decision. It was done in light of the overcrowding that occurred. "The cemetery is a maze of very small roads, so if two cars come face to face, you have a Mexican standoff."
Those with relatives buried in the cemetery will not be affected by the ban, and a round-the-clock police presence will remain in place for the forseeable future. Capt. Aucher added: "I don't have any idea as to when that will change. It's being evaluated day to day [by the cemetery].
" Despite the traffic problems, there have been no incidents at the site. He added: "It's been relatively quiet."
Whitney was found dead in the bath of her Beverly Hills hotel room on February 11. She was 48 years old.
Jennifer Aniston thought Justin Theroux was "like a serial killer" when they first met.
The 43-year-old actress - who has been dating her 'Wanderlust' co-star for just over a year - thought she could see a "dark" side to the actor but quickly learned he is the "nicest person in the world".
Speaking about their first encounter, which took place on the set of 2007 movie 'Wanderlust', she said: "I met Justin about five years ago and I thought he was very sweet and he was always very nice.
"But I remember thinking he was very dark. At first you think he could be like a serial killer, but he is actually the nicest person in the world."
Jennifer admitted she "didn't recognise" Justin when they met again to work on 'Wanderlust' as he had a bushy beard and long hair for the role, but she insists that is part of the 40-year-old star's appeal. She added n an interview with Pop Sugar: "That's what's so great about him. He can do different looks and he just disappears."
One Direction are "grateful" for their success.
The boy band - Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horran and Louis Tomlinson - know they are privileged to have been given the opportunities they have since competing on UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' in 2010.
Speaking at the BRIT Awards - where they picked up the publicly-voted Best British Single for 'What Makes You Beautiful' - at London's The O2 last night (21.02.12), Harry said: "I think for us, we're all at the age of 18/19/20, to get to do this, people of our age don't get to do stuff like this very often and we're just so grateful to all the fans who have put us where we are, the radio stations and everything else, were just ever so ever so grateful to have this massive opportunity and we're just having fun and working hard."
Despite their success, the group insists they haven't changed with fame. Zayn told BANG Showbiz: "Us, we're still normal."
Because they only received one statuette for their BRIT Award, the quintet decided to allocate the prize fairly - joking that they planned to divide it into pieces.
Justin Bieber is "excited" about releasing another book.
The 17-year-old singer - whose first tome 'First Step 2 Forever: My Story' has sold over one million copies since its release in 2010 - will release a second photographic compilation, 'Justin Bieber: Just Getting Started' in September.
The book will feature exclusive candid photos of the star filming his 'Never Say Never' movie, performing across the world and recording his next album 'Believe'. He said in a statement: "I'm so excited to be working on another book with HarperCollins
"Being able to share my story with my fans through these books is an absolute privilege. I can't wait to show them more about my life on tour and in the studio in this next book." And it seems the book is not the only piece of good news for Justin's fans.
The 'Baby' hitmaker has announced he hopes to release a new song to download through itunes next week. He tweeted today: "so next week is my birthday and maybe a week from today i might be on a song called #LiveMyLife on ITUNES. maybe."
.Mariah Carey says Whitney Houston's funeral was a "class act".
The 41-year-old singer was among mourners at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday (18.02.12) and found the service to be a fitting tribute to her friend, who was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room earlier this month.
Mariah said: "I'm almost incapable of talking about this still. It's very heavy emotionally… "[The service] was gorgeous. Such a class act. The way she went out and the way family dealt with it, I was very moved."
Mariah duetted with Whitney in 1998 on 'When You Believe' and was delighted to have forged a friendship with the 'I Will Always Love You' hitmaker after they were previously seen as rivals. Speaking on 'Good Morning America', she added: "It was great, and I don't think people could ever understand our relationship.
"There was always this supposed rivalry in the beginning and then we did the duet and we became friends. I saw her toward the end. I loved her. We all loved her… May she rest in peace. "
