Brian McFadden has slammed X Factor hopeful George Gerasimou as a “scumbag” for his treatment of new judge Tulisa Contostalvos during the opening show last weekend. The ‘Real to Me’ singer is guest presenting on Dublin radio station 98FM this week, and took the opportunity to spill the beans on his X Factor insights.
He admitted he was “disappointed” by the show, following all of the hype leading up to it. “It’s not really about the judges, it’s about the talent - and as a show it really dragged out”, the singer told 98FM listeners. Brian, back in the public eye with new love Vogue Williams, watched X Factor with his children, and blasted the show for televising final contestant of the night, George Gerasimou. “After last week’s riots, that kind of display was just embarrassing for England. He was shouting abuse at a woman and cursing, and really they should have been showing some of the good things about England and the talent that they have in the country”.
He added, “My kids were watching it, and I don’t want them thinking that’s what all English people are like, it’s just a small minority. They shouldn’t even have shown him on TV – it should have been binned”.
Brian also ended speculation that he is considering reforming with old bandmates Westlife. “Me and the boys haven’t ever spoken about it at all. One day we’d love to do something together, but now is not the right time. They work so hard; it’s part of the reason I left - I can’t do those kind of hours. They work 364 days a year! Who knows in the future, but there’s definitely no reunion on the cards.”
